European Poker Tour
The European Poker Tour was actually founded by another tournament’s winner, John Duthie. The winner of the 2000 Poker Million event established the European Holdem tour in 2004.
Since it was first founded, the popularity of EPT has grown just as big as the one of World Poker Tour. However, there are particularities that make the two tournaments differ, such as the final table. In the WPT, only six players will manage to make it to the final, unlike in the EPT, where the final table will host 8 players.
After the 13th edition which would be held this year, PokerStars, the company that owns EPT will change the competition and split it into two main events: PokerStars Championships and PokerStars Festival. Those two main events will cover also the other two PokerStars tournaments, PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, and Latin American Poker Tour.
